What immediately came to mind for me was this (short) Ted talk https://youtu.be/zAFcV7zuUDA

Are you lamenting that you reach for `console.log` first, instead of using the `debugger` statement, or are you wishing there was a `debugger` statement, because there absolutely is a `debugger` statement. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Refe...

I'm lamenting that I reach for console.log first and then regret it. Every single time.

Huh, why do you think you do that? Do you forget about the debugger statement, or is there some other reason you think console logging might work well?

Thank you, I had no idea what the subject was from the headline

You wont notice any difference until about a minute in where all the instruments come into play.

I put on my headphones to be sure. The audio quality seems uniform throughout to me. Which isn't to say it sounds good (it doesn't.)

The drums especially are distorted. Bass is non-existent.

Why do they even bother hiring a bassist if they don't anyone to hear him? They even paid the guy $1M to join the band!

For those reading the comments first, this is not the first Mastodon that came to mind in the context of metalheads. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mastodon_(band)

Trap, reading the title that was not what I was expecting. But my guess is that it was intended.

Not intentionally. Mastodon is also a name of a Twitter-like social network. So the title here makes perfect sense for people like myself who hadn't heard of the band with the same name.

This is just one of those occasions where name collisions happen through nobodies fault.

Metal has quite a few name collisions, but perhaps the most unfortunate is https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isis_(band)

That’s an unfortunate name collision everywhere.

I know three women, all over 30, who chose the name Isis, and a kid who was given it and goes by Tara now.

It was also meant to be the name of a major ElementaryOS release IIRC.

The River Thames through Oxford is locally known as the Isis, so there are dozens of businesses called things like the 'Isis Guest House'. Many of them have rebranded.

Isis is also the name of an ancient Egyptian goddess.

I imagine it's a recurring problem. There were probably some people named Hitler in the 40's that faced the same problem. I imagine Adolf too, to a much lesser degree.

Same Oddly was listening to big short soundtrack late last night.

There is also "slankekur" which more or less translates to "slimming-cure"

I thought the same thing.

"I really hope they got permission to ruin the lawn"

A close friend of mine has been in and out of the job market for years with various diagnosis, including stress, depression, anxiety, OCD, one doctor even suggested brain damage.

She was diagnosed with ADHD and ADD a few years ago, got medication for it which cleared up most of the above symptoms. She has now held a steady job, although at a reduced workload, for a few years.
