Or if I put on my tin foil hat, I think the position of most content websites is that if you are consuming their content, but blocking javascript (and therefore their ads and trackers) then they actually want you to have a bad experience and not come back (they can't make any money off you).
...which is why I prefer extensions like AdBlock, Privacy Badger, etc. to disabling JavaScript: they cut out ad/tracker cruft without destroying my experience.
