One of my more memorable events back when I lived in a suburban cul-de-sac as a teenager was walking home from school and finding a neighbor's 4-year-old stumbling into the street, blind with tears. Her mom hadn't noticed that she wasn't in the car when she drove out.


Especially as US driving tests are anecdotally much easier than tests in other developed countries. [1]

The proverbial two-edged sword there.


As well as lack of exercise and increased risk of accident is the problem of air pollution, which kills a significant number of people.
