Asking permissions for each aspect and requiring apps to work if it is denied is one of the few things I liked about iOS.

If you really want freedom, use CyanogenMod, or better, Replicant. Google's been enviously eyeing Apple's walled garden for a while now.

Oh yes I am well aware :) I think Replicant is the one for me.
