There was a page on there years ago where projects could advertise who are they looking for. I found a couple of projects that needed packagers this way and learned more about maintenance. I think it's a really good idea.

My first thought as well. It doesn't make it a bad idea at all. And the execution of it could be a lot better than Source Forge's was/is.
