You seem to think there would be uniform treatment of hostages. Women were sexually assaulted more than men. Babies were strangled. There is real forensic evidence that’s been made public about the conditions of recovered corpses. It may be true that some of the 251 hostages were treated better than others. It does not make your statement true.

Yes. Quite.
Both sides of this conflict had genocidal maniacs at the helm. One had more capability and thus more effect. But neither had none, either in ability to cause violence or black-and-white foreign supporters who refuse to see their side’s demons.
But we know from other released hostages that this wasn't the case.
