NTSB forces reporters to get plane crash updates on X (thedesk.net)

This is contrary to the NTSB's own guidance which says to just check Twitter before emailing:

https://www.ntsb.gov/news/Pages/media_resources.aspx

The NTSB now says it will only be releasing information via Twitter and no longer via email.

Does this move require X to take down login requirements to view NTSB posts?

Can a Federal Government oversight body ONLY release information locked behind an account requiring agreement to a non-government TOS?

Submit a FOI request, asking them to provide their policy on only releasing information via Twitter/X, but file the request via email.

Forget TikTok, I'd rather see a divestment of X.

Twitter was the best idea ever but never made sense as a business; people keep trying to use X as if it still is Twitter, but it isn't. Bluesky is nice but still too small.

This is just sick. Musk has wormed his way into Trump's inner circle and used that position to prop up his personal platform to ensure clicks, eyeballs, and personal revenue enhancement from his personal connection to the president. I get that Trump himself skirted emolument issues in his first term, so I guess that just emboldens everyone else to get a bigger piece of the pie too? I guess Zuck's recent $25mil isn't enough for him to get any of the exclusive gov't announcements on his platform? I'm flabbergasted at the number of people that don't think this is an issue.

Don’t worry, soon you’ll have to bow to your leader every day via X, OpenAI will find a method to verify that it is you really bowing. The privilege will cost a buck a month obligatory because MElon and ASam need some money.

Imagine how much less competitive America's economy would be if we weren't legally mandating our own apps and services. It's about freedom and fairness, really!

Of course, and any country which a president of is not on X gets 75% tariffs on everything slapped on starting tomorrow.

The market is rigged. Nobody is long Tesla enough.

The way things are going, there might not even be an NTSB for much longer :(

(Other than the National Trump Speculation Board, given his random theories about what happened and why...)

Musk has no commitment to the truth or even reality. He lies constantly. He lies about things there's simply no need to lie about. He can't help himself.

He's spent 10 years lying about Tesla's full self-driving:

https://electrek.co/2024/08/24/tesla-deletes-its-blog-post-s...

He lies about being good at video games: https://english.elpais.com/technology/2025-01-24/elon-musk-a...

He lies about Cybertruck quarter mile times:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5J3H8--CQRE

Tesla never even ran that quarter mile. When your engineers don't have commitment to basic honesty then you've got a rotten company. And the fish rots from the head: https://x.com/wmorrill3/status/1746266437088645551

He enjoys and promotes conspiracy theories: https://edition.cnn.com/2022/10/30/business/musk-tweet-pelos...

He dabbles in antisemitism: https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2023/nov/16/elon-musk...

He stokes partisan division over the Los Angeles fires: https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2025/01/10/elon-mu...

And so on and so on.

X is an endless swamp of falsehoods with Musk himself spreading as much of it as he can. Without facts America will have no past and no future. America will be stuck in an eternal present, just like Russia.

This is Musk's attempt at a Russification of America.

America's in trouble.

The US becomes a new oligarchy. Like Russia. They all admire Putin.

This shit is just getting old, already.
