Before watching this lecture I thought fasting was about losing weight. In other words, starve your body of calories and you'll lose weight. Because of this, I was never interested in fasting. It seemed like an unsustainable extreme approach to weight loss. We all know that extreme approaches do not survive the test of time. So, I ignored the entire subject.
Until I watched this lecture and learned that fasting, in fact, is not at all about losing weight. Sure, it is a side effect, yet, what you are after is far more important than that.
You are after serious biochemical changes that affect almost every part of your body, from gut to brain. The subject, quite frankly, is fascinating.
