The earth goes 584 million miles per year, and it's over 500 million years until the sun grows big enough to fry the earth. So say 2.5x10^17 miles to slip. Not gonna worry just yet.
Nothing wrong about someone in pain exercising their choice to stop that pain. I support her. I think it's cruel for you to sentence an adult you have never met to decades of suffering because you don't have the stones to accept her choice. Be a better person. Show some compassion.
Yes, I also strongly believe that the agency to one’s own life belongs to the most fundamental human rights and absolutely necessary for the human dignity. Why the law, i.e. the conventions or views of other people, should decide what I may or may not do with my own body/life is absolutely beyond me.
Yes, the law may forbid other people to actively assist such endeavors because of the serious possibility of abusing. But, ending one’s own life could be a liberation in same cases. Forcing someone to endure ceaseless, utter pain and hopelessness is tantamount torturing and abusing, and in my view is absolutely horrific and despicable in every way.
Human dignity is inviolable. This includes ending one’s own life with dignity.
