Since that one has the advantage of being a Show HN, we'll merge the comments thither. Thanks!

Feels way better when someone else posts it

"Show HN" is nice because it signals to the community that the submitter is posting their own work. I hope merging the threads doesn't spoil the feeling :)

It was incredibly confusing before I saw this comment LOL.

I was saying to myself I know that the one that I submitted yesterday didn't make it to the front page and I know I wasn't imagining it.

However, I'm not sure by your comment if the assertion was I did it under two accounts. If for any reason there was that presumption I would like to state I didn't make duplicate posts under multiple accounts. That was someone else doing it on their own.

Also curiously the post lost its points it seems? No matter just noticed.

Oh I came across your post on Reddit and got interested in using it; I already use pihole for local DNS and need to set up a VPN.

I submitted it to Hacker News this morning and looks like they just merged threads. Sad to lose mine :'(

Thanks and glad it was of use! Sorry you lost yours.

No shame in that, just dropping links and references. Great project!

Thanks!

Ah didn't realize this was posted; came across this project on Reddit.

I'm already using pihole for local DNS and need to set up a VPN so this should work well.

So I can set this up in aws and have a “vpn”?

Absolutely. I have a guide for doing it on oracle in the repository.

Link for those who are curious: https://github.com/IAmStoxe/oracle-free-tier-wirehole .

Thanks for sharing that repo. I have a similar setup, but with each service in its own compose file as I added them over time. I would definitely use WireHole if I didn't have everything running already.
