Show was refreshing as a tonic in the age when everyone was a techno-optimist, but now that everyone is a techno-pessimist to the extent that the selling point for the recent breakthroughs in Gen AI is “give us money because in the wrong hands it will trigger an apocalypse” I don’t know how well it’ll land.
It reminds me of how Veep lost its edge once reality became too cynically depressing to make fun of. Satire can either become humorously out of touch or depressingly on the nose.
