Im wondering how is this informative in any way? And, why is this worthy aplomb?
The point of view I choose to take here; if this is not field of work (50/50) by standards other than politically imposed hiring bias (which it might be, I do not know), they (the hiring policies) are creating dis-balance in employing more competent male workers.
So the logic of the situation is: If this field is inherently market driven ~50/50 in terms of gender ratio then there is no news. If this is not true of the said field of work then this news should be read as self-congratulations at gender discrimination (against equally competent males). I fail to see the moral here.
