Fourier transforms are amazing. Once I "got" how they worked it really made a lot of things like this make a lot more sense.

Blotting out "bright points" in a 2D transform is basically creating a bandpass filter to get rid of those frequencies. That pictures have frequencies, is cool in itself, looking at each vector through the image as a series of samples.
