I have been using Windows 10 as my main machine for 3 years now. In the past I have used MacOS as my main machine and Linux for home projects.
The author says - "I used Windows before purchasing my first MacBook but returning was not in my considerations due to the state of that OS with inbuilt ads, bloat and privacy concerns."
Its even worse if you buy an OEM device or get stuck with Windows 10 Home.
With Home, once your PC finds out you have WiFi, it will not let you set up the device without a Microsoft Account, and it will remember your WiFi details even if you kill the OOBE and restart. (among countless other extremely user-hostile features Microsoft has added)
