The rework on the graphics card is killing me. That it was more economical to patch over circuit board design flaws with manual soldering than to re-spin a second revision of the board surprises me.


A board spin used to be orders of magnitude more expensive in both time and money than it is now, and this was a very low volume application.


That, and bodges can be easily applied to already-assembled boards in inventory, repair centers, and the field.
