I think next go round I'm going to get a desktop replacer style laptop and see if I can get best of both worlds. I don't really care about portability and thus use a desktop but I do want to sit outside or work from the couch sometimes.

The MacBook pros have been able to drive 2 4K displays at 60hz since at least 2016 (when they became thunderbolt 3).

I don’t recall if that worked on the smaller models, but it worked on my 15” model. I’ve been using 2 Dell P2715Qs since then and they work great.
