Tbh if I was starting now, I would probably use one of those and be happy with them. But I started using Emacs in 1992, and it still does what I need (thank you language server protocol). Will VS Code exist and offer the same experience over a whole career?

I have started with Visual Studio, then moved to Eclipse, then I've learned Vim and then Emacs and I stuck to Emacs finally.
