Ask HN: Do you use Sociocracy methods in your organization?
2 points by andrei_says_ on Oct 30, 2020 | hide | past | favorite | 1 comment
I was recently exposed to the methodologies of Sociocracy and am wondering if any of you has experience with real world use in an organization you belong to?

I am especially curious about using it for decision-making and internal elections.

Apologies for not exactly answering your question but I’m excited to see Sociocracy mentioned. Closest I got was retrospectively: in a small case study in my book Right to Left I looked back on a great experience using Sociocracy as a lens. The principles of circles, consent, double linking etc turn out to be way more interesting than the mechanics of meetings (except, ironically, it is a meeting design that keeps bringing me back to it). John Buck, co-author of We the People (make sure you get the 2nd edition) contributed my foreword so it all checks out :-)
