I love this. It doesn't matter what framework you use, having to raw dom manipulation is eventually a task for any seasoned frontend engineer. Understanding the dom api is absolutely essential, when performance is paramount. Resizing tables, drag/drop, e.t.c any advanced interaction will need control of raw dom. I'm not dissing Frameworks. They are a tool that help you with certain kinds of problems. Any crafts(wo)man, should know their tools well.
