I was not very clear in how I stated it. The originality of invention is unimportant.

What is important is this likely politically astute developer saw an in with this and made it a thing.

I don't follow. This is a well-known software pattern. Where does the politics come into it?


A politically astute developer is able to take ideas and make them "important" while other developers look on and say "really"?
