This is exactly why I think programming should be taught in elementary school. Programmers think about problems very differently.

How can a given problem be solved reliably using a strictly defined process? Many kids don't seem to appreciate this question. Indeed, some seem to think that problems at school or in live are obscure riddles that can be solved using talent, luck or intuition (of course they believe they lack all of those). A programmer understands that there must be a way to describe the solution to a problem in such a way that anyone (even a computer!) can figure out the solution.

Conclusion: Teach programming in school, as early as possible.
