They both have the same exact features. Anyone running Exchange or an ActiveSync licensee (such as Zimbra) can also support the same features.

But true, anyone with Exchange or ActiveSync can support the same features on an iPhone.

It uses SyncML. And you can't simulate it, because hostnames are hardcoded and you'd have a problem getting SSL cert for domain you don't own.
