Nice! I especially like the first one about getting it working and THEN making it great. Brings to mind in a round-about way Knuth's comments on premature optimization being the root of all evil. And it's very, very true.

Marginally OT: has anyone read the book these are from, "Dreaming in Code"? If so, is it good?

I really enjoyed reading it. I recommended it to a fee friends and thry liked it as well. I would highly recommend it.

Great! Thanks for the feedback.

I'm almost done reading it. It is rather depressing to see all that talent and time go to waste.

It made me think of teen horror flicks, where someone is about to do something Really Bad ("I'll go by myself and check the attic; be right back!") and you want to yell out, "No! No! Don't do that!" because you know what's going to happen.

Ouch. I take it things don't go well in the "quest for transcendent software" that the books marketing copy references?

Sorry for being picky. But it is Andy Hertzfeld. The z is missed in title.

Fixed, thanks.
