Me too. I just swapped waybar etc for the dank shell etc and love the setup. It feels polished now

Personally, I am rarely concerned about the crime private citizens are committing relative to the crime the government routinely commits. Cumulative historical negative effects are not even close on the two. Also, the vast majority of private crime with broad effects is economically motivated, almost always by laws passed by government making some act people want to do illegal (i.e. drugs, prostitution, gambling) and the solution that is sensible legalization with a focus on making it too inexpensive to be illegally profitable in the context of ensuring product safety (yes, I am aware Canada has already utterly failed at this with marijuana). The solution to those crimes is not more government surveillance and therefore more data to assist the government in doing the crime its representatives appear to be fond of.

You guys coming to canada any time soon? I would switch on a heartbeat

Can you explain where this fits in foe the rest of us? Is this replacing something else in the linux kernwl to handle tcp/udp et al?

Depends on the cost to run it.say it costs 5k to do a years worth of something intellectual with it. That means the price ceiling on 90% of lawyer/accountant/radiologist/low to middle management is 5k now. It will be epic and temporarily terrible when it happens as long as reasonably competent models are opensource. I also don't think we are near that at all though

You're basically me except instead of gaming I ripped out hyprjellynix (my super crappy nixos config to autologin to a window manager and start jellyfin media player setup for bazzite because it just worked so well and auto update worked so well and setting up new boxes was a breeze. I just need it to keep booting into kde and loading jellyfin media player and updating and rebooting at 3 am every night on my 3 boxes so really hoping I don't notice this change. If I do I'll have to find another immutable os that can do this and works great with hardware acceleration on the cheap nuc like n150 based boxes I prefer for this.

It's sad that this happens so often now. My brain auto translates the above statement to "we, the wokes, abused the overly broad, convoluted and mostly unnecessary code of conduct we pushed through earlier to get rid of dissent." at this point, although it may not be a correct auto translation in this case.

If you read the article, way down at the end he pulls it around. He means it's dead as a serious os that vendors can ship. It'll live on for hobbyists but you better be prepared for a bumpy ride as the YOLO crew hits send on increasingly larger amounts of stuff before its ready and continue to act unprofessionally (my paraphrase, but I believe I captured it).

isnt ut more likely we are 80% of the way to maximum performance by doing 20 % of the work and the remaining tiny performance increase will require a multiple of the work we have done so far and will leave us with performamce that "isnt good enough"? Seems way more likely to me than a linear progression to agi from here

it doesnt have dotfiles? how fp you sync c(nfig between machibes?

It does habe dotfiles. (.config/noctalia. it is possible to declare mostly declaratively if you want)
