Just yesterday, we were discussing starting to retire our fleet of 8GB Macbook Airs, because 8GB just isn't enough to run Tahoe and a few apps. Luckily, most of our Macbook Airs are 16GB to avoid this kind of obsolescence.

It looks like this MacBook Neo doesn't even have an option for 16GB, unfortunately.

Why is that unfortunate? They make MacBook Airs with 16GB for those that need more than 8GB.

Do you have offices in all those cities, or why are you listing them? I will downvote your and all other posts who do this unless you reply, because I think you are doing this to appear when people search for specific location.

We do have a physical footprint in each of those cities, and there is real value in being able to actually see our product and service in person by being in our service area. We can provide a desk with real co-workers in any of those cities.

See https://www.rinse.com/contact/#locations-heading

Most developers prefer to work from home, though! We're fully remote, and are free to mostly work from home or a co-working facility instead of one of our potentially-noisy offices.

Am I crazy if I hate remote?

I don't make the rules here, so I am going to remove the downvote, but I believe there should be a way to easily search for jobs that aren't remote.

I appreciate your response.

edit: I can't remove it anymore

No worries about the downvote. You're NOT crazy to hate remote!

It really depends on your phase in life, and your lifestyle. I have kids, a home office, a community, and outdoor hobbies, so the work-from-home lifestyle is great for me. And, I can meet colleagues for lunch or strategy sessions on occasion as necessary.

If you want to socialize with coworkers and minimize time at home, then find an in-office work environment! There are lots of them out there - Rinse isn't quite for you.

Hi, are you hiring remotely? I'm based in the UK.

My work: https://launchtoday.dev

In my experience, you won't hear from them at all. Heard the same from another HN member. They have another post in this thread that got downvoted away.

I heard back from them when I reached out to them in the past. We weren't the right fit, but Sam was professional and communicated well.

They're probably just busy.

Hi, just seeing this. Please do apply; we have a team member in Spain and a few more international members.

This is a cool visualization. I wonder if it uses the excellent solpos.c library from NREL as the core engine?

Missed a chance to put this in meme format e.g. https://imgflip.com/memetemplate/439302803/Days-without-acci...

This is great! The only part that broke the immersion (for me) was that the cloth bits fell at a constant rate - I'd expect them to accelerate due to gravity, and maybe flutter as they fell.

Nice art!

They didn’t kill the smugglers extrajudicially, though, which is a big difference.

That's how you differentiate old empires from the curent ones: they are tired of all this killing.

What do you think about Obama killing an American citizen via drone extrajudicially?

Why does that matter? Does that excuse or justify these extrajudicial killings (murders?) in any way?

It was an unforgivable crime, obviously. Much like these war crimes.

We don't know if the Trump admin is killing American citizens in these. They don't know who they are killing either. Maybe the first step to pointing a weapon is knowing who you are pointing it at.

Whataboutism isn't a good argument.

war is extrajudicial

America isn't at war.

Not even the "war" on drugs or "war" on terror? Semantic games aside, the precedent for the president engaging in military action without congress declaring war was broken decades before Trump.

I love me a good Tu Quoque defense. Keep em coming! I can't remember if we supported him cuz he wasn't the war candidate or we supported him cuz he was or if it even matters and we just make up bullshit excuses for what suits us at the time with whatever is convenient for the given argument...

So? We hated it then and we hate it now.

They surely need circus for the plebeians. /s

Tell that to the thousands of parents that lose a kid each year. This trash has to stop making it into the US.

Everyone talks about stopping drugs entering the border but no one talks about dismantling the extremely efficient logistic network that makes those drugs available in every corner of each major city.

I guess it’s easier to blow up random boats in the pacific than prosecuting corrupt officials but is it effective?

Why not do both?

Because it's un-American and murder to kill criminal suspects instead of trying them in a court of law.

I would say it's as American as it gets, and in this case justified as well. Do you not know America's history..? Even recent one? Obama ordered drone strikes in foreign countries as well.

We know it’s not justified because they aren’t enemy combatants.

What is the difference between this and sending hellfire missiles on Afghanis based on cell phone data, during the Obama administration?

One is illegal.

Losing a kid doesn't mean America is at war?

To cocaine? By "lose a kid" I assume you mean death and not some euphemism for addiction.

As fucked up as the situation is, they were warned that they would be blown up if they tried it.

Giving warning you are going to violate international law doesn't make it any less illegal or immoral.

What do you think about Obama killing an *American citizen* via drone extrajudicially?

I've needed two passes in the past, a few days apart. One to catch all of the adults, and another to catch any new wasps that emerged immediately after the first pass.
