and their awesome theme engine. it brings a breath of fresh air to the interface. Of course, 99% of the themes found on xda are utter garbage but a few of them are extremely well designed.
I use the Opera labs browser. Opera, because despite some parts I don't like, it's the best I've seen at reflowing text to fit the screen (perfect for HN). The labs version, because it supports extensions, and it is the only way I can get something like Ghostery to block trackers while I'm browsing on the phone.
Do you have a particular HN app you recommend?
I was using http://ihackernews.com for a while, because of its mobile-friendly HTML, but it doesn't really offer anything in addition to regular HN with a good browser. Double tapping zooms to a good size, reflows the text, and snaps the scrolling to the new width, so most sites just feel like a "mobile app" anyhow.
That's was quite surreal to read. Thanks for taking your time to share such a nerve-rattling history of advancements in science and technology. I will probably print it out and frame it on my wall and remind myself that we are already living in the future even though much remains to be seen and accomplished.
Being unethical or not is based on moral values and Apple did breach the moral code of conduct in their recent lawsuits by acting vigorously bullish but they did nothing wrong(at least not legally). But what James Hardie did was borderline illegal so they are two different things.
You are right though. Even though Touchwiz was an abomination compared to the smooth and slick iOS, Samsung's Galaxy S phone was a step ahead in every direction compared to the iPhone. At the time, it was the thinnest, lightest and the most powerful phone. Not the mention, the gorgeous display it had. Samsung innovated on every platform except the homescreen UI (sadly, many people don't see this).
But above all, their marketing and advertising strategy was unparalleled. I saw a Galaxy ad literally on every road, every TV show, every soccer match and what not! The success was not surprising given how much they effort they put.
Apart from the original Galaxy S, no other Samsung phone is even remotely close looking as the iPhone. Perhaps the Galaxy tab could also make it to this list but the innovation margin in the tablet design space is very little(They did alter the design later however)
How is he misrepresenting Steve Jobs's statement? Isn't it what he meant. Of course, he didn't mean to say that he is proud of copying others' ideas but that copying is inevitable. Or am I misinterpreting his statement?
