Before that in 2007 the same issue was addressed by Ukrainian president Viktor Yushchenko: https://youtu.be/uF534zmxa9c?si=AzSm-0e-W0YQHES1

Is there any info regarding that header on the other side of the board, just on the back of HDMI connector?

It's the VideoCore JTAG header used for debug and development - it's not intended for end user use.

This is a great blog about electronics! I remember I needed to solder something and wasn't sure I can do it, so I searched for some tutorials on Youtube and came across this guy's series about soldering. He shows very well how easy it is to solder once you get to know a few techniques of dealing with solder and tools. And Australian accent adds an entertaining bit to it, so it's never boring.

Notes about projection choice seem to prevail, which is nerdy. Well, 400 euros for a wall map seems like a lot of money, but what isn't described very well is how the source file was created. It seems like the guy was manually stitching screenshots. God knows how much time did this take. There's little to no hacking in this project. Just the bit where he makes something custom.

Well the whole damn map/project was custom. Seems as the same amount of "hacking" as most posts in this sub, except this was not made inside a computer.

I'm pretty sure the costs were not a running tally, i.e. they need to be added up for a total of over 1140 EUR.

I was also confused about that. Just assumed he incremented expenses with each step, but I think you're right, since 10 euros for framing doesn't sound legit. At over thousand of material/services cost the whole thing appears to be even less sensible.

Eugene Ciurana's, author of "Developing with Google App Engine", works there in CTO role and I bet he's one of those two engineers selected by Yahoo. His Linkedin profile [1] provides an insight on the technical stack of Summly as well as gives you an idea of the size of the development team.

Non-LTE version should have a free PCI-e slot where you can install additional SSD disk. http://goo.gl/WkXX2

Are you sure that the connector for the PCI-e slot is going to be populated on the non-LTE model? Is there enough space for an SSD there?

Of course not since I don't have one to check. All I have is this pic and my experience modding laptops.

Congratulations! You've just unlocked "Revisionist" badge. And if you're in the EU, you're also under arrest.

You mean Mini DisplayPort? Many vendors use it nowadays.
