"New graduate Mette Schjelderup has just joined her young husband's business Douchebags, a sports equipment luggage company that was launched last year, and already sells its products in 300 stores across 20 countries."

lol. I mean, what else would you call sports bags?

Kickstarter should claim safe-harbor as they are a conduit.

This case means they open themselves up to being required to censor every project for every jurisdiction. Kickstarter apparently views the cost of that censorship as much less than the community cost.

Seems unlikely to be the case.

I believe they've always censored in a fairly opinionated manner. I'd only be speculating if I tried to say why, but I imagine it's to do with wanting a much more active audience - a site needs to do a lot more to make you give your money than just keep on reading. If their projects list turned people away they'd be in a lot of trouble.

1] If you can visit a local telco wire office, go do so; especially with all these questions in mind. Telcos have dealt with this problem way before most of us were born.

2] Use DNS's hierarchical nature to your advantage, e.g.

tld -> domain -> telco location code -> box N = box38.lsanca.example.com

3] Your network design perspective will impact how you approach naming, so be careful you don't cement with names something where the design will change, and then your names no longer make sense.

centre? lol You must not be American. We're busy complaining about the DoJ, IRS, and two administrations that don't have control of their bureaucracies.

You know, the things that matter in American Democracy. ;)

Did you read the article? This is an article about a Canadian issue. In Canada. Your comment is almost entirely irrelevant.

lol. Imagine Chris Yeh as your dad. And what life with a bunch of filters would be like...

I got the opposite lesson out of skating since we had to negotiate with cops all the time.

It's 3 in the morning, you want to skate some plaza, and the only thing stopping you is the cop on his beat. As soon as I found the cop, I'd go ask him if skating here was fine, or if somewhere else was better.

The cop that gets stuck with a city beat at zero dark thirty is either the n00b or did something stupid and isn't super happy with Authority. On top of that, the only people awake at this hour are drunks, bums, and skaters. Given a reasonable skater, which one would you prefer to talk with?

I knew that if I was the least irritating of the options, I had good chances at being cut some slack. So, there's no way I would front some attitude or do anything that would deviate from the "nice kid who happens to be on a skateboard" image.

Filters are the opposite of useful since they drop so many people who could make a positive impact if you structured the encounter properly.

Reading between the lines...

1] Military has too big a delta over civilians; how can I help reduce that delta sanely?

2] Too much of our communications remains plaintext; how do I roll out crypto today?

3] Our economy has non-productive members; how can I help those who want help?

4] People still don't like most other people; how can I detect/counter any biases I might have?

5] People still sexually abuse and torture other humans; how can I help victims, and help deter future violence?

6] Children don't have rights; how can I help children who want to accept adult responsibilities?

7] The US military costs a lot and seems to only make enemies. What can I do to make it act more like Switzerland's army, but without compulsory service? Or to at least be adequately compensated as World Police.

Don't leave it for the mega-shops (goog, aapl, amzn) to create. After all, casinos use tokens instead of cash for a reason....

rough consensus, running code

This is too much talk, not enough code. Whoever wants PKI needs to put together a POC and release it into the wild.

Actually, it's probably the age correlation. yay for hidden third variable. ;)

Yay. We label Uriel a troll and not Pando Daily or any other daily controversy generators.
