Where there doubts about it? Are there doubts whether a for loop is conscious or not?

Markov chains are very useful and imo so are LLMs, the issue I believe stems from calling it "inteligence" which creates some expectation which is often not met

One perhaps unpopular opinion: Could it be that the current AI is beneficial for young people in the sense that it is making them stop looking at their phone for a bit, and realize that certain tech is not that important for human well beeing? The change is in their/our hands after all, we just need to become aware, believe and vote with our wallet and the whole society will change in the blink of an eye. The hard part is the awareness and believing.

My experience as a parent is that gen alpha took note of the fact that their parents being on their phones means less attention, so it's possible they'll have a more sober view of the entire thing.

I love US' nonchalance for anything regarding copyright (see AI pre-training)

Is Malta a corrupt country?

Moderately corrupt, slightly higher than the average nation.

> "The Trump administration is making no real effort to crack down on whoever is trading using inside information, and these inside traders are operating with a complete sense of impunity, assured that they can get away with it."

I think this sums it up.

The inside trader made no real effort to crack down on themselves

The Ouroboros is smart enough to not get annihilated by biting its tail. Mind the gap, eh?

If only the NYMEX somehow knew who ordered a trade

Indeed, since 2016.

Why would they turn off the tap for easy money?

I've learned this by reading Influence by Robert Cialdini. The trick is find something to which they say yes. If they do it their brain kind of tells them: If I did him/her a favor it's because I like him/her.... and liking opens other doors

Is that the real location or a mere simulation of size? If it's the former I wonder why close to the water? I'd understand if it was a nuclear reactor...maybe for cooling purposes but only for storing the waste? I guess it's just a size simulation, although if it were reality maybe the though is: Oceans are big enough to dilute the whole thing in case it breaks...as a watersports and ocean fan that makes me sad

Is it just me or everybody finds the "charging extra" a bit vague? I don't deny it simply curious: how much?

I understand organizations as LaLiga wanting more money but massive IP blockage seems quite unfair, effective maybe but unfair so this news does not come as a surprise.

Who says it's effective? The pirate streams still go up every game, as far as people report here. They can just change their ips or hosts occasionally.

It's the honest businesses who probably won't go through the effort of evading the block every time.

Also, clients of the streaming sites are quick to find and spread workarounds, mainly VPNs. But the small shop in the same IP selling to middle/older aged lose business and look unreliable to their clients, that can't even spell VPN.

It's been going on for a while, but a couple of weeks ago they announced it would be expanded to other sports, that's probably why
