Yeah, we lost a lot of nerds with the higher status of Computer Science, or rather we got a lot of non nerds/geeks into the mix.
Every year as the criteria went up at the University, I saw less of the type that had always been there.
Regular sugar isn’t bad for you in and of itself, it’s just extra calories as you say. Consuming it in large quantities can be bad though, in the sense that you can become obese with all the health risks that involves.
Ironically, this kind of mindset just makes the demographic freight train of population collapse even worse. The best thing you can do for society rn is to keep making babies, so that the population doesn’t collapse faster than we can handle
Oh I know Iceland is about the same as northern Labrador or even south east Nunavut. But here in SE Canada especially Newfoundland the warm Gulfstream and Labrador current both meet here so it can be quite foggy. Plus it seems we are like the tailpipe of North America every weather system seems to end up here even hurricanes.
This is a good case of the prisoners dilemma. If the groups of attackers don’t hit the same victims twice, it would increase their chances of getting paid for each attack.
Whilst also everyone is tempted to re-hit a victim who has already proved their willingness to pay, but this decreases the willingness for each victim to pay because they have seen that it won’t actually protect against a new attack.
