Haha, why does Steve Wozniak have the "Bad Boys Bail Bonds" lanyard my girlfriend does?

I had no idea Rap Genius was a YC company. I listen to _alot_ of rap while working, and often look up the more intricate lyrics/phrases I haven't heard of.

Rap Genius is far and way the best site, the next step down the ladder is things like Yahoo Answers...

Alot of people are getting down on this... I'm very excited.

I live in downtown San Jose, and _alot_ of people tool around on long-boards already; I've been thinking about getting one and I'm a dedicated cyclist. The city is quite flat, and the bikelanes and side-walks are wide and nearly empty. Combined with a high bike-theft rate, and this would be a great way to scoot around.

So even if it might not work where you live, there are places where this contraption fits perfectly.

Congrats! I went to school in Philadelphia, I think Kortina paid for cheesesteaks at a hackathon once..

That's a tradition--we'll be doing the same at pennapps again in a few weeks.

Much love for PadMapper. I'll miss it man...I even recommended it to my landlord so he can track neighborhood apartment prices better (for rent adjustment)

Haha cool. No need to miss it, it's still there.

Yeah, the relevant naming was great. Seeing it go from rough segment clustering to your website design was very neat.

Those looks _weirdly_ similar to what caricaturists draw.

Many years ago I came across a simple graphics program that created caricatures. Details are vague, but it involved plotting the key aspects of a "normal" generic face on in some sort of grid-space, then plotting a more typical (or "interesting" face).

The program then exaggerated the differences between the two. It was fairly basic code, but remarkably effective.

that's awesome, I'd love it if you found a link to that :-)

I have a feeling it's on a C=64 floppy in my closet :)

I went to a Serious Business Meeting in the Bay Area where one of the other company's engineers was wearing a kilt. Pretty excellent.

Kilt is rather formal.

Gotta love android, you can cheerfully mprotect away the write-protection on executable pages. I've done some dynamic stub code removal that way. Worst case, you can only hose your own process.

C++ actually has some performance advantages over C, especially relating to static polymorphism (qsort v. std::sort)

Technically you can do tricks like that with the C preprocessor, though it is a bit ugly and lacks automatic instantiation.

It is also not type safe.
