Would dotted pair notation make sense for this lisp where lists are arrays, not linked cons cells?

IMHO, yes, binary building blocks matter a lot in lisp philosophy, whether or not they're built on javascript arrays.

Thanks for responding, man. That's my point though. There is no cons building block in this lisp. I don't think (1 2 . 3) can be represented in it so having the notation for it makes no sense.

Actually they only have the latest git snapshot available from the main page. It's not even RC2.

Simple and refined, guaranteed to blow your mind...

The tao of regular expressions link is broken in the first chapter. Does anyone have a link?

Why is init called twice? Once at the end of the js and then again in the html.

The one in the html should not be there.

This book (The Elements of Computing Systems) made it click for me:

One of the most rewarding books I've ever read.

Can someone explain the 'same name key:value shortcut' feature?

It's a DRY thing. Often in JS, object literals assign their keys to values of the same name -- you'll see a lot of this:

    $.ajax(url, {
      data: data,
      contentType: contentType,
      success: success,
      error: error
    });
... not so nice. So as a first stab, you can clean it up like so:

    $.ajax url, {data, contentType, success, error}
... but it's especially nice in the context of destructuring assignment, like for your Node.js imports, for example.

    {spawn, exec} = require 'child_process'

Nice. Thanks Jeremy.

What makes you say that? I've not seen anything about them needing money. From the FAQ:

Are you accepting pre-orders?

No. We are adequately funded, and don’t want to take your money until we have finished hardware.
