I stumbled on this by porting something using that was previously pip, and that surprisingly different default has been a foot gun.

An alternative use case: on a long flight I would prefer to fly on a 787 or A350 as these composite aircraft maintain higher cabin humidity and pressure which is easier on the body.

This looks promising. To activate the suspend on collapse feature enter "chrome://flags/" into the address bar and make sure these experimental features are "enabled": #tab-groups, #tab-groups-collapse, #tab-groups-collapse-freezing. I also enabled: #tab-groups-auto-create.
