I place it in the category of “cringe humor,” and by that standard it’s more cringey than Seinfeld and curb - especially because of the first person shots. It is a great show! Well worth a watch.

I always refer to it as cringe humour too but for the reason that it makes me physically cringe seeing how they humiliate themselves in social situations - Like NO MARK PLEASE DONT DO THAT! DONT ACT ON THAT IMPULSE PLEASE! kinda thing.

If you like cringe humor, you might 'enjoy' the web tv show "2Kawaii4Comfort" on YouTube, about late teens/young adults going to an anime convention.

It's very well written, and it's the first time I've physically reacted that much to the awkwardness of fictional characters.

Ah nice thank you. This looks like something I might enjoy indeed. Cheers

I was completely sold when I think it's in the first episode Mark is walking past some lads who accuse him of being a "paedo" and he hurries off thinking to himself "You're not a paedo. You're definitely not a paedo." as they've finally said something bad that doesn't apply to him.

it is truly excruciating

I’m doing math academy and I have two comments. First, the value of this site comes from its content which is very thorough. I think it’s a great way to learn math.

Second - I love the website. It reminds me of what I think of as the golden age of web design where sites were mostly server side rendered with a little jquery / Ajax sprinkled in, and more information density was preferred.

I’m concerned about how secure this will be. What happens, for example, if you experience a sim swap attack?

How will apple protect all of your password data in this case?

Will the setup allow for an additional password to prevent hackers from gaining access?

I’m confused. Does this math check out?

Circumference is 24,901 - so about 1000 mph at equator.

1000 mph / 3600 s / h = 0.27 mps

0.27 * (1/250) = 0.001 miles?

Doing this math on my phone but am I missing something here?

You are correct. Using GNU units:

    $ units '2 * pi * earthradius / day * (second / 250)'
        Definition: 1.8532517 m
Which is 0.0011515572 miles...

I think the parent comment was confusing/misremembering the rotational speed value in miles per hour as miles per second.

Even if we stretch out and look at how fast the Earth orbits the sun, it still doesn't explain the 4 mile figure.

Earth's orbital speed: 66,200 mph

66,200 mph / 3600 s/h = 18.38 mps

18.38 * (1/250) = 0.07 miles

I got the same answer

I think it's relative and phrased poorly, since the orbiter has to circle the earth at a certain faster speed. But quick googling shows Apollo 8 was traveling about a mile a second?

I made something similar a few years ago (https://github.com/danielecook/upvote.pub) and it even hit the front of HN...but couldn't get enough traction. I hope yours sees more success.

Loved this game as a kid. I played the traditional way, but I also had a lot of fun sending the coaster down a steep drop and up short ramp to nowhere so it would go airborne across the park.

I use a notebook and pen. It's like having another screen, except it's my list of todo's and its always open and in front of me.

I write a list of todos, check them off as I go, then rewrite that list once the page is full or after a few days - leaving off those that are done. I've found it works better than any app (and I have tried many).

This is incredible. The reduction in latency has a profound effect in terms of the way I interact with this type of tool. The speed benefit is more than just more image generation. The speed here helps me easily keep the same train of thought moving along as I try different things.

I ordered parts from here after the plastic hunter douglas cradle pieces I had shattered into a million pieces. I didn’t even know what the parts were called but the site had really good technical drawings and pictures of each piece with their names.

Anyways, I’m now considering DIYing some new blinds. My current blinds have 3 cords per window - I am hoping to switch to cordless with a tilt wand (child safety first). Has anyone gone about this before and have any tips?

I thought HD blinds had a lifetime warranty. Did they not cover it?

I wasn't aware of this. It's a pre-owned home. I plan to switch to cordless anyway.

The text beside it says "Automatic speech recognition (based on word error rate, lower is better)"
