Agree with you. There are around 12 IITs while Harvard is a single institute(?). The article omitted JEE mains phase. 12.5 lakh students appear for mains, in 2013. 75,000 qualified for JEE advanced.
This is good startup story for India. Exits in India are rare but not unheard of, as claimed by article. There are some Indian company products acquired without creating much buzz here. For example, Pramati's Qontext acquired by Autodesk. Yasu acquired by SAP. UserRules acquired by some company(not sure)
Is this the first student fight ever happened in a university in India? Student fights always happen in universities, colleges, I don't understand why you even bring the issue here. Fights between groups from different castes, states, regions, political parties and other interests is a common occurrence.
c0 is the first pass (c to intermediate), c1 is the second pass (intermediate to assembly), c2 is the optimizer. c0 is built from files beginning with 'c0' and so on.
That includes medical insurance for you and your family. If you are willing to travel you can get good house for rent at INR 10K month. I pay INR 6k for 1500 sqft house and my previous office is 7 km from my house. You can do rest of the math to figure out how somebody getting $25 per day can live comfortable life. Anything above $25 is bonus.
If you are referring to me then I know all this, being a resident.
But yes, the GP commenter might find it useful. In a city like Bangalore it still is a shoe-string budget and I can say this with authority as a 26+ yr old bachelor living in a one bedroom flat.
I was just commenting on his assumption/observation that we get $10/hr in general :-)
'Gleevec is under patent in the U.S., but not in India'
This is a biased article, Novartis tried to gain one more patent for existing drug with slight modification.
We been called many names but never a police state. His cry is all about providing id. One 9/11 and the government started stripping people and entering your bed rooms. In India, the average ratio of a police to citizens is around 1:200. This is from major cities. When you go rural, the ratio will shrink further. Considering the number of terrorist attacks we have and population density, ids are the bare minimum preventive measure we have. For Indians, the accepted id can be any one of voter id, driving license, atm card with photo, ration card, passport and college id. Even my son's play school id was accepted in air port. We usually keep photo copies of one of the above.
I am surprised to see crap like this got many points. What's next? something related to Jersey shore?
