Please don't cross into personal attack or name-calling, regardless of how wrong another comment is or you feel it is. You can make your substantive points without any of that.
You're a "simple person" if you think that bringing GLP-1 to the masses or smoking cessation won't have monumental impacts on public health - of course thinking is something that non P zombies do...
Serious, qualified doctors are already calling for nearly everyone to take GLP-1s. It's hard to find things that GLP-1 doesn't positively impact in regards to longevity.
Edit: could you please stop posting unsubstantive comments and flamebait generally? You've been doing it repeatedly and we've asked you many times not to.
I'm convinced that the ills of America are pronounced, moreso than any other developed Nation, to prevent further brain drain from other nations to the US (with, among other things, its privileged reserve currency).
I had this exact thought the other day. Social media is information porn. Endless amounts of empty information that gives you the feeling of acquiring knowledge, with none of the substance.
But it's so satisfying to one's ego that a single cause is the issue. All complexity of societal changes in the last 50 years can be outmanuevered. Simplification is sexy.
It’s satisfying to know that we’ve eliminated a major environmental toxin with so many awful effects. It doesn’t mean that lead explains everything, but it is a lot better than the “we built enough prisons to lock up all the bad guys, maybe we should build more” alternative hypothesis/proposal I’ve heard.
We live the life of the Servant. We used to define ourselves by our profession, now we define ourselves as "special needs parent". This is a step closer to actually being more human. How trivial our lives were before, how we wasted so many hours on shit that didn't matter!
I do this a lot when I am around my 6 month old daughter. We can already see a very clear difference in her engagement and curiosity when she sees a colored phone versus a monochrome phone. She grabs for the phone less and quickly returns to previous activity if she notices a monochrome phone.
