Will you open source your code after you shut down?

I don't know about illegal immigrants but there used to be a thriving business for scammers and fraudsters. These days you're asked to go to one of the identity verification offices of the IRS with a state issued id and social security card.

This applies to previously flagged accounts, audited filings etc.

Does HN have a way of moderating astroturfing? I'm honestly curious. Im aware of the typical HN digressions but it appears lately, threads are just consistently hijacked encircled in twaddles and responses to channel traffic and discussion off to some app.

What are the checks and balances if any to keep the astroturfing binge to a minimum and encourage discussions instead of traffic channeling bait.

Yes, there is moderation. If you have concerns about astroturfing, you can contact the mods via the Contact link in the footer.

People with two jobs and kids are still able to make it to the market to shop groceries and what nots yet our lazy generation always redefine the opportunities for into the most inexplicable realms.

(Disclaimer: Im pretty old so I could be wrong)

I've

I don't know much about security so I really have no constructive criticism, obviously, one can easily make lots of investigative inferences from the information Wire collects and that is troubling enough.

If I understand correctly signal stores only metadata. My question whats the format of the metadata what kind of information does it retain. Is it anywhere close to what Wire is storing?

I would appreciate clarifications on this.

Signal service doesn't store message routing meta data nor what groups you are in.

In response to a subpoena for specific user's data:

"the only information we can produce in response to a request like this is the date and time a user registered with Signal and the last date of a user's connectivity to the Signal service."

So you guys literally milked ideas and and code in the guise of teaching the students only to spin up another business. I loved the whole MOOC idea until it was ambushed and hijacked by people running all manner of fluffy positions.

The whole system is now bent on profiteering with marketing staff fabricating fancy outcomes and guarantees to lure people to sign up for the paid version of the course.

Especially Udacity and Coursera. Edx not so much even though their programs are more rigorous!

As someone enrolled in the course, I don't think this is a very fair judgement. The TAs genuiunely seem there to help. I'm actually happy that Oliver decided to do this and wouldn't mind if more did it, more employment opportunities!

Oh, you mean like traditional universities? $2400 doesn't look so bad when you compare it to grad school somewhere that would teach this stuff.

Not at all! The open source self-driving car project is still open sourc and hasn't been commercialized in any way. The spinout involves no student-written code. Hope that helps.

Most likely they were just passionate about self-driving cars then, and are passionate about self-driving cars now. It doesn't mean the two were connected.
