Notepad++ maybe?

Go is more of an alternative for python/ruby than it is for C/C++.

So it was basically a message board?

Well not letting people export and purging all Quill DMs is not a good start.

Choosing not to let your manager see your DMs seems like a strict improvement over Slack.

Mobile is such a huge percent of market share so I doubt if one desktop distro changing the default browser moves Firefox more than 0.5%.

My first was Slackware. Back when they would mail you a CD of the distro for free.

Wish I had known about that back then. I spent hours in a 24 hour access university computer lab, one night in '93, downloading Slack to floppies.

Never looked back. '93 was the year of the GNU/Linux desktop for me.

That's kind of the point of CentOS (or was). Sacrificing newer packages for stability.

You probably meant "it looks like it" or "it doesn't look like there's another (supported) way". Really sad, and it's a "classic" snap so you don't get any isolation benefits but performance penalties and lots of mounted snap filesystems.

The MicroK8s team is actively working on a "strict" snap https://github.com/ubuntu/microk8s/issues/2053. There you will get all the isolation benefits and security enhancements. https://snapcraft.io/docs/snap-confinement
