This is actually not true, and has been verified by the Irish Data Commission (http://www.dataprotection.ie/documents/press/Facebook_Irelan... see Page 44)

User accounts that are deleted have all associated user created content and data hard deleted after account is deleted. Additionally, a user deletes content (status updates, comments, etc..) that data is hard deleted.

I work with Matt at Facebook and wanted to reaffirm his comment below. This survey was a small anonymous test designed to improve the systems we use to keep the site safe for everyone. And, we have already confirmed that the responses collected will have zero impact on people's accounts.

We believe a real name culture is core to our mission of making the world more connected and helps us to provide the best possible experience for our users.

PS One thing I did want to note is that we offer Pages where the individual admins are not listed and have been effectively used in the past by a wide variety of groups, movements, brands, and individuals.

Yes. The current Sherlock Page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sherlock) is official. Search should populate in the next couple days, the re-crawl shouldn't take more than a week or so.

Hi HN! I work for Facebook's Public Policy Team focusing on our Security efforts. Unfortunately, this was indeed a glitch in our spam prevention system.

We integrate with many different external blacklists (https://www.facebook.com/notes/facebook-security/link-shim-p...) including Norton and when there's a block on their service we provide a warning to our users. I have already reached out to Norton to notify them, however, the cause for the block is a question best suited for their team. We only use our external blacklist system to protect our users and would never use it to reduce traffic for competitive reasons.
