I recall the state of Indiana was banning dedicated bus lanes. Many of the impositions come from the county and state level.

The political strategy in Ontario was to force amalgamate the cities with the suburbs so that the suburbs could politicaly dominate the cities.

You can see at the voting district maps the city of Ottawa for example will 100% vote for a different candidate that all the distant suburbs attached to their municipality and the suburb candidate wins.

Funny that you mention American bacon as having a good meat content as I've only ever seen streaky bacon in the states, which tends to be very fatty. I wouldn't even know where to buy back bacon in the midwest.

I have two, US and IE. The US passport is only used at the US border (per law). Not many countries have a problem with the Irish.

I'm not a fan of unusual sizes and colours. That said, printing on a decent linen paper (on the correct side!) has helped me.

There is an order of magnitude between the population of Austin and NYC. Perhaps comparing Austin with a similar sized city, Columbus for example, would be a better comparison.

I was comparing to a small Texas town.

In some places, Kansas City for example, cost of living may make up for that 15k.
