Its current state is worse than a year ago and even worse than 10 years ago, etc. As a fellow European, it's a fact that the US for many decades have attracted global top talent for both universities and industry. That definitely hit a hard reversal during the current term with the war on universities/education as well as immigration policies though.
Not really, it parallels the movements of today almost too perfectly:
The Luddites (1811–1816) were not merely destroying machines to stop technological progress; they were a broader, community-backed protest movement fighting for economic survival, fair wages, and against the erosion of their traditional, skilled way of life. While they were textile artisans at the core, the movement was fueled by widespread distress during the Napoleonic Wars and received support from local communities and even some sympathetic small-business owners.
The system runs only one app and does not serve public internet content - it does not get any updates at all, only this one app is updated every few month.
There's literally not enough gold in the world to make a difference at those scales. And while gold can serve as a (relatively) safe store of value, ultimately investors need to earn returns and holding gold has negative cash flow.
You sell into the market and buy a replacement asset. Easy peasy. No need to sell all at once, you simply change your strategy to invest new capital elsewhere and slowly roll off existing debt ownership.
Over time, the US will need to find someone willing to buy new US debt as existing buyers and holders invest elsewhere.
As a Swede(working in the energy sector no less), Sweden has only themselves to blame for their catastrophic decisions, like killing a world leading nuclear industry. Don’t blame Germany for Swedens incredibly stupid decision to shut down functioning nuclear reactors prematurely.
I don't know who these "people" are, but it's logical that people who have a dislike for police would call them bastards, no matter if the police are bastards or not...
And that's not even considering the direction the US is heading, I mean in it's current state.
