I had to selectively stop carrying parts of USENET (I ran what was briefly a fairly important node globally) because of the volume of the binaries, and various sex and bestiality groups (probably still including some badly-scanned ASCII-rendered images!

Seems to have patchy coverage in the places I was looking, and date range search wasn't working for me. OTOH, I think I found some posts not archived by Google...

Similar! And for a while my back bedroom in London was one of the world's top USENET 'transit' nodes, getting as high as ~#6 IIRC!

It is not "ideological" to explore if, given the last year or so of US "FA" behaviour, the UK should decouple from it...

Finally getting the FHS out the door seems to be the key point to me. There must be a good reason for hiding that amongst all the other stuff...

Also, the Future Homes Standard, long long delayed, discounted electricity instead of constrained off, etc, etc...

Yep, my dad wouldn't let me get my first handheld (LED display!) calculator ~50Y ago until I could prove to him that I didn't need it for simple things such as multiplications up to 12... (Yes, 12, since we still had/have feet and inches for example...)

Because of computers/hex I can also do 16 (but forget about 176 ).
