Show HN: Linked QL – a "magic wand" query client for your database (github.com/linked-db)

Hey #SQL and #js people, I'm stoked to introduce Linked QL - a “magic wand” query client for your database that simplifies how you query data and manage your schemas.

If you've worked with structured data on a real world project, then chances are that you've also had a hair-pulling experience figuring out relational queries, managing schemas and coordinating dozens of migration files.

You also may have had to move from a tool like Prisma to one like Drizzle in search of sanity, and then realise that this too inherits everything that makes an ORM and ORM!

I am writing Linked QL to be everything I've ever wished for in a database access layer. We're proudly introducing:

1. a whole new syntax extension to SQL that gives you magic path operators for your relational queries (in place of the regular ORM)

2. a powerful little addition to your database that gives you automatic database versioning and a whole new migrations experience

You’ll probably love a modern and simplistic take on SQL and databases in general!

I'll be more than glad to have your feedback on this work, ahead of our launch in a few days.

This is one of a few things I find awesome. At a first glance at the README, I can see some ambitious takes here.

Love the magic paths idea. Auto versioning? Holy cow! If this does what it claims to do, then I'm sold.

Still need to take a closer look at the migrations part. I wish the docs were clearer regarding the sample schema.json provided.

Thanks for a particularly exciting feedback. I'm sure you'll have more to say after you've tried this out.

That said, I agree that I haven't done a perfect job there in the sample schema.json area. Nice catch! I'll be change that next.

I love this already, looking forward with great expectations.

I'm glad at that. Would you also consider leaving us a star on github?
