I'm talking about a design where there's no "lookup the app" step in any menu (Settings or Home screen); where instead, you go straight to the foreground app's preferences.

You can do this from the app switcher: long-press the "title bar", and there'll be a round "I" button that takes you to the app's settings.

If I am in the app, I can swipe slowly from the bottom, and click the "app info" button. So no hunting for the app icon needed.
